  • Cobá Archeological Site

    Coba is the archaeological zone with the highest temple in the Yucatan Peninsula and has the oldest network of stone roads in the Mayan world. It also contains stone stelae with inscriptions on important events in this ancient city. It is believed that the name "Coba" was the original name of this city, which means "chopped water", due to its proximity to lagoons.

    The Mayan ceremony begins by presenting the bride and groom to the seven directions: cosmic energy resides above, Mother Earth rests below, around are the four winds (north, south, east and west) and the Higher Self is inside their hearts. And, as if it were one of the most creative decoration ideas for weddings, the Mayan painting or altar is divided with flowers, candles or gourds into four parts, so that seen from a zenith plane it reflects the four cardinal points.
