A Sanctuary of Connection and Healing in the Mayan Jungle
Sobre Pepem Holistic Retreat
Pepem means "butterfly" in the Mayan language, a symbol of transformation, rebirth, and the evolution of the soul. This space was born from a personal process of deep healing, and today it accompanies others on their journey of inner metamorphosis, just as a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly.

A sanctuary within Dos Ojos Park
Located in the heart of Dos Ojos Park, just 15 minutes from Tulum, Pepem is surrounded by virgin rainforest, medicinal trees, native fruits, and sacred cenotes. Spanning two hectares of living nature, the space was designed for conscious retreats, integrating sustainable architecture, solar energy, and 13 eco-cabins that respect the natural flow of the earth.

The founders
Pepem Holistic Retreat was born from the shared dream of its founders, Virginia and Juan Carlos, who joined forces with a clear vision: to create a sanctuary for deep healing, spiritual reconnection, and harmony with nature.
Virginia and Juan Carlos conceived Pepem as a legacy: a place that demonstrates that it is possible to build in the jungle without damaging it, honoring Mayan wisdom and offering each visitor a space to return to themselves.
Virginia, spiritual channel and therapist, guides cacao ceremonies, temazcales, medicine songs, and soul transformation rituals.
Juan Carlos, architect and visionary, designed every corner of Pepem with respect for the natural environment, nurturing the flora and fauna, and using local materials. Elevated cabins, palm roofs, and paths integrated into the landscape are part of this conscious architecture that allows nature to flow freely.
